Hello to all who dare to dream, and kudos to those who do something about their dreams.
That is why I still think of Alby ... the character Alby Mangels created, and filmed. He made sure he was living his dream, and then he took it even farther ... he filmed it to share with the world.
Yes, he became a legend in his own time ... through his own efforts to 'make things happen' one way or another, and in the process became a true pioneer in the 'travel adventure documentary' category. His contribution to the genre still needs to be adequately appreciated.
Bravo Alby! Thank you! I truly do hope the little bird that told me a movie of his life was in the works was singing a timely song ... a movie that I, and Alby, will actually see in our lifetimes (I am the same age!) ... a movie of his life will be made one day, I am sure, and I know I want to be around.
He, and his wonderful traveling companions still travel on DVDs/videos/YouTube, etc., all over the world every day. People are still intrigued by his dream speech. People still Google his name. I still cry when I think of Sam. The Gretta Marie still calls me in my dreams.
Alby Mangels still inspires.
